GXO Digit Robot Deployment Expands to Two U.S. Warehouses

GXO Digit robot deployment will expand to two additional U.S. fulfillment sites. GXO Logistics and Agility Robotics announced the expansion on October 26, 2026. The companies expect Digit robots at facilities in Statesville, North Carolina, and Lebanon, Tennessee, in early 2027.

The agreement expands an existing commercial relationship. However, it does not mean the new sites already use these robots. The companies said the locations will initially use Digit 4 robots for repetitive material-handling work in e-commerce fulfillment. They plan to move to Digit 5 only when that newer version becomes commercially available.

What the GXO Digit robot deployment adds

At GXO’s existing Flowery Branch, Georgia facility, Digit works alongside other automation by moving totes and placing them on conveyors, according to the joint GXO and Agility announcement. The companies say the robots have moved more than 100,000 totes there.

The two planned additions matter because they take a named commercial program from one live warehouse to three locations. Unlike a laboratory demonstration, this expansion assigns robots a narrow, repeatable task in a working warehouse.

What remains unproven

The companies have not disclosed key details. Neither company gave a robot count, throughput target or pricing for the two facilities. Also, Digit 5 has no confirmed availability date. The early-2027 timing is a plan, not a completed deployment.

Meanwhile, Logistics Manager also describes an expected rollout. Its report says the machines will support repetitive material handling. However, a planned expansion does not yet prove performance at the two new warehouses.

Why warehouse teams may care

For logistics operators, humanoid robots could suit sites already arranged for people. They may also help where changing tasks make fixed machinery impractical. Still, specialized conveyors, mobile robots and other established warehouse systems suit many jobs better. Ultimately, Digit needs to work reliably, safely and economically across multiple sites.
