How to Set Up a Custom URL for Your Youtube Channel
Before I tell you how to set up a custom URL for your Youtube Channel, you must understand that adding a custom url is only possible after your channel has 100 subscribers.
So once you have crossed that number, you can follow the following steps to setup a custom url for your Youtube channel.
Steps on How to Set Up a Custom URL for Your Youtube Channel
Following are the steps to set up a custom URL of your choice.
Before we begin, I am assuming you are logged into your Youtube account already, because, du-uh.
I will start off with the easiest way. That is using a direct url to navigate to where we want to go.
Step 1: The easiest way is to open the following url in your browser:
https://www.youtube.com/account_advanced
Step 2: Click on the claim it here link as shown. It must be located in Advanced Settings tab column.
In the next screen, you will be suggested the choice of name for your Custom URL.
Step 3: If you are okay with what is suggested, and of course after you have read Terms of Use, you can go ahead and check “I have read and agree to the custom URL”.
Step 4: Then click on the Change URL button.
Step 5: Next step would be to a confirmation step. Click on Confirm Choice if you are okay with the name.
That’s it!
Now all you have to do is paste the url in your address bar and press Enter. Don’t worry about the capital letters.
Woohoo! It works.
Alternative Way to Navigate to Accounts
If you are not a fan of navigating to pages using URLs, this is the way you could go there too:
Step A: Click on your channel button at the top right corner of your screen. Then click on Settings:
You would notice that the screen that opens is that of your Youtube Account with the following url:
Step B: Now you can either click on View advanced settings option or directly on the Advanced Settings button on the left. One and the same thing:
Then repeat Step 1 – 5 to change the URL once again.
