How to Install a Free AutoSSL Certificate on your website | cPanel
This tutorial will help you learn how to install a free AutoSSL certificate on your website. You might have gotten a message from your hosting provider that your AutoSSL did not renew or it might have expired.
The problem with not having a valid certificate on your website is that when someone tries to access your website they might get a warning message saying that your website is not secure. Even at the top left side ‘the not secure’ message might hamper the user experience that you intend to provide for your visitors.
To quickly solve this issue you gotta jump to your hosting’s cPanel first.
Steps on How to Install a Free AutoSSL Certificate on your website
Step 1: Here I have opened my cPanel.
Step 2: Navigate to the section that says Security and look for SSL/TLS Status. Click it open.
Step 3: On the next page that opens check the following box that will select all the Items showing in your domain. There might be some showing errors in Certificate Status.
Step 4: Once selected click on Include Domains during AutoSSL.
NOTE: Since I have already done this, I am not getting this option as highlighted in the image below. But you go ahead and do it.
You can skip the above step, if it is the same for you as it is for me.
Step 5: Next click on Run AutoSSL button.
Wait for a while, and then all the Certificate Statuses will begin to show as AutoSSL Domain Validated as it is being shown for me above.
That’s it! Let me know if you face any problems while performing the above.
Now that you will go back to check your website, the AutoSSL certificates must be added and your website will no longer show any certificate-related error message.
